Katie J. Vogel is an M.A. Art History Candidate and Florence Fellow in Syracuse University’s Florence Graduate Program in Italian Renaissance Art. Her research interests include the literary and visual patronage of Maria Maddalena d’Austria, the Catholic Church’s response to the querelle de femmes, and the representation of female artists in Seicento Florence. As the Research Lead for the Summer 2026 Digital Bronzini internship, Katie developed a concordance table, or finding aid, that links the contents of the Bronzini manuscript volumes and appendices with that of the work’s published volumes as well as a bibliography of scholarship on Bronzini’s dialogue. She also carried out codicological research on Bronzini’s manuscript, identifying new evidence related to dating of the manuscript’s contents, its dedication to contemporary female rulers, and its provenance following Bronzini’s death in 1633.
