Kaelan Felknor-Edwards

Kaelan Felknor-Edwards is currently a Master’s student at the University of Padua, enrolled in their Mobility Studies program. After earning her Bachelor’s in History and minor in Dance from Carleton College in 2020, she took an extended series of gap years, working for CH Robinson in Minnesota and pursuing her budding interests in aerial and pole, before deciding to return to her academic roots in the fall of 2024. Her past research interests focused on medieval travel accounts and religion, with her undergraduate thesis studying the impacts of Franciscanism on William of Rubruck’s writing, and now have shifted to slightly forward in time as she studies the mobility of wealth through the wills of Renaissance women. During her internship, she worked with Dr. Mancuso while also working on her Master’s thesis, which relates her archival research on Renaissance wills with Francesco Barbaro’s De Re Uxoria.
