Davide Boerio studied at the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II” and University of Manchester. He received his MA in early modern history from the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”, graduating in 2013 with first class honors.His area of research focuses on the cultural, social and political history of early modern Europe, with a particular emphasis on the history of political information. In the course of his research, he has worked on the Neapolitan revolution of 1647–48 and its links with the contemporary European experience. Since 2010 he has deepened his interests in the field of Digital Humanities, cooperating with a research project for the digitalization of the archive of San Francesco di Paola in Naples. He presented his research at the international conference “News Networks in Early Modern Europe: News and Shape of Europe, 1500-1750” (London, 26th-28th July 2013); his essay will be appear in the forthcoming volume published by Brill and edited by Joad Raymond (Queen Mary University of London). As of September 2013, he serves on the advisory board of the project “The Birth of News. A program in Early Modern Media Studies”, sponsored by the Medici Archive Project and directed by Brendan Dooley (University College Cork). He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program (European history) at Università degli Studi di Teramo.
