Anna-Luna Post

Anna-Luna Post is a PhD-candidate working on the creation and dissemination of Galileo Galilei’s fame. Her interests lie with the cultures of learning and science, especially in Early Modern Italy and in the Dutch Republic, focusing specifically on issues of fame, reputation and credibility. Currently, she is also working as manuscript assistant for Isis: A Journal of the History of Science Society. She previously worked on Renaissance humanism in Bologna and has written the introduction to the first English translation of Barlaeus’ oration (1632) Mercator Sapiens (forthcoming). During her short-term fellowship in honor of Eva Schler, she will focus on the correspondence of a group of Medici court poets celebrating Galileo’s early telescopic discoveries.
