Robert B. Strassler worked as CEO of a company in oil field equipment from 1963 - 83. He is a former Chairman and current Overseer of Bard College at Simon’s Rock and the Advisory Council of the Department of Astrophysics at Princeton University. For many years he has chaired the board of the Aston Magna Foundation for Music and the Humanities. He has edited and published editions of the works of both Thucydides and Herodotus and now is now a full-time editor of the works of ancient historians.Mr. Strassler has served on the MAP Board since July 1998 and was Board Chair from 2000-2006.
