Laura Windisch studied art history and cultural studies at the Universities of Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Rome and Berlin. In 2006, she received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Karlsruhe and, in 2010, graduated with a Master of Arts from the Humboldt-University of Berlin.From 2008 to 2012, she has worked as a research assistant for the project "Requiem“ at the history of art department at the Humboldt-University of Berlin. Since March 2012, she is an associate member of the research project "The Interior“ at the department of art history of the University of Bern. Since November 2012, she is working as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Horst Bredekamp at the Humboldt University of Berlin. At the Medici Archive Project, she will continue her research on her doctoral dissertation which focuses on the artistic patronage of Anna de' Medici (1667-1743).
