Document Highlights

Who knows why a particular document grabs our attention? Perhaps it gives us an unexpected glimpse into an historical situation or perhaps it merely confirms what we always assumed was going on in the past but never expected to find recorded in black and white. In any case, all of these documents share a crucial common denominator: their discovery was heralded by a Project Researcher exclaiming to the rest of the team, "Stop! You've all got to see this one!" And now we are sharing the Greatest Hits of the Medici Granducal Archive with you--in "DOCUMENT HIGHLIGHTS".

The essays below were published in The Florentine. To read earlier document highlights, visit the full Document Highlights Archive.
