DONATE TO THE MEDICI ARCHIVE PROJECT
The Medici Archive Project is a non-profit foundation with federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, which exists solely on grants from foundations and tax-deductible donations from private individuals. The thousands of documents entered on our online Documentary Sources for the Arts and Humanities in the Medici Granducal Archive: 1537-1743 are available to the public free of charge. The letters of the Medici archive can be browsed, used in scholarly research projects or read merely out general interest. The MAP research staff is constantly adding new documents to this database, enriching this unique scholarly resource.
Moreover, the scope of our activities has been expanding in recent years and as the mission of the Medici Archive Project is ever evolving and its activities increasing, with conferences, publications, special research projects, and teaching programs, the costs involved in maintaining this research institute, have also been growing. In addition to salaries of research staff and office equipment, there are many costs associated with our new BIA platform. The initial development phase was fully funded with a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, however maintaining it is expensive—web servers’ hosting and bandwidth, costs for photographers and equipment for high-resolution digitization—all this must be paid for.
Please consider donating to the Medici Archive Project. Donations, large and small are welcome and, as always, tax-deductable.
