    International Honorary Chair

  • Sela Ward
    International Honorary Advisor

The Medici Archive Society is honored that Sela Ward has agreed to be our Honorary Chair. Best known as a film and Emmy Award winning television star, in her more private moments, Ms. Ward is a philanthropist, entrepreneur, painter and long time student of the arts. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Alabama where she studied art history and painting. In 2000 she founded Hope Village for Children in Meridian, Mississippi. She has continued her studies with private painting instruction on the Island of Giglio off the coast of Tuscany. She has traveled extensively in Italy including trips with Medici Archive Project Board Chair, Martha McGeary Snider. Her passion for beauty, history and drama, and the powerful role of women in the Medici Court, led her to become more interested in being involved with the unique mission of the Medici Archive Project.
