Jewish Religion, History and Culture

The Archive of the Medici Grand Dukes of Tuscany, preserved in the Florentine National Archive, offers a rich trove of previously unknown documentation regarding the history, life and culture of Jews throughout Tuscany, Europe and the Mediterranean World over the course of two centuries (1537-1743). The Medici Archive Project is reclaiming this precious source material and bringing it into the mainstream of current scholarship.
