Brendan Dooley

Brendan Dooley is the Professor of Renaissance Studies at University College Cork.  He has previously taught at Harvard University and Jacobs University in Bremen.  Between 1999 and 2001 he was Chief of Research at MAP. Publications include Science, Politics and Society in Eighteenth-Century Italy (Garland Publishing, 1991); Italy in the Baroque: Selected Readings (Garland Publishing, 1995);  The Social History of Skepticism: Experience and Doubt in Early Modern Culture (Johns Hopkins, 1999); Morandi’s Last Prophecy and the End of Renaissance Politics (Princeton, 2002); Peste e società a Firenze nel Seicento (Florence: Polistampa Edizioni, 2001); The Politics of Information in Early Modern Europe, edited with S.
