The Medici Archive Project is a charitable organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Consequently, contributions are deductible to the extent provided by the law.
The Medici Archive Project believes in a new approach to archival research and through the funding of its supporters MAP aims to empower individuals by allowing them to access documental studies. MAP has always believed that Digital Humanities innovation has to come from Open Source projects, which will allow other organizations to benefit from its work for the benefit of the global academic community. In carrying out this mission MAP provides many opportunities to its scholars, to discover new knowledge and advance our understaing of the Early Modern Era. Each discovery is the result of many hours of study, discussion, research and there is a strict correlation between the funds which are invested in this endeavour and the results that are obtained. It could be argued that we could put a pricetag to each discovery, as the knowlege contained in the archival collection of the Archivio di Stato di Firenze is untapped, and despite the flurishing of publications, conferences and papers which are resulting from our work, only a small percentage of its potential is being harvested. We do encourage everybody to contribute to our calling and donate a small amount to support our organization in furthering scientific research.
