Joan A. McClure
Joan A. McClure was born in Huntsville, Alabama. She began college at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, then moved to New York and graduated from Fordham University cum laude with a BA in Economics and from New York University Stern Graduate School of Business with a MBA in Marketing.
Joan worked for 3M Company in Philadelphia where she was one of the first women in industrial marketing and sales. She moved to New York and worked for 3M in new business development and received numerous awards for her work in marketing.
After completing her MBA, she joined Citibank, NA in the Cash Management/Transaction Banking Group and became Vice President, Senior Account Executive in the Insurance and Investment Bank Client Group. Her clients included The World Bank, Morgan Stanley, Travelers Insurance, US Treasury, Swiss Re and Munich Re. Joan then joined Deutsche Bank as Vice President, Team Leader in the Corporate Trust group for Trustee and Commercial Paper Issuance, providing services to financial services and media clients. Her clients included Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Banco Santander, GE Capital, Viacom and Walt Disney. Joan is a Certified Treasury Professional, CTP and a member of the Association of Financial Professionals.
After leaving Deutsche Bank, Joan has been attending the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID), where she is taking courses in art history, residential design, and the history of decorative arts, and where she became interested in the Renaissance. Joan supplements her studies at NYSID with seminars at the Metropolitan Museum of
Art where she took a seminar on the Medici. She also has spent 2-3 weeks for the past several years studying the history of architecture, art and the decorative arts with lectures and seminars taught by scholars both through NYSID and independent organizations in Rome, Paris, Florence, Vicenza, Milan, Venice, Zurich, London and Berlin.
Joan resides in New York City with her husband, Michael L. Schler, a tax attorney.
